My mother playing a little piano and her learning to play guitar.
Best part of being a Salina Symphony musician:
Playing in an orchestra with such strong community support.
Most memorable performance with the Salina Symphony:
October concert in 2014. The performance of the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 was amazing.
Favorite composer:
Varies with my mood, but you can’t go wrong with Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky
What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
I like most kinds of music with a leaning toward classic rock and pop music of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s
How do you spend your free time?
TV and practicing
Whom do you admire?
Yo Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman. They are both superb musicians who still know how to have fun while making music.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
For me, my greatest accomplishment lies in the growth and achievements of my students. Watching and helping these students achieve their goals is most gratifying.
