Job Title:

Earliest musical memory:
When I was about three or four, I remember my mom and I watching The Waltons and singing the theme during the opening credits.
Best part of being a Salina Symphony musician:
Having the opportunity to play with amazing musicians, especially my sister Karyn
Most memorable performance with the Salina Symphony:
Performing in Beauty and the Beast. It was an awesome experience to have the orchestra on the stage rather than in the pit.
Favorite composers:
I can’t choose one, but there are a few favorites: Dmitri Shostakovich, Gustav Holst, Eric Whitacre, John Mackey
What song best describes you when you first wake up in the morning?
The Elephant from Camille Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals
What is on your Ipod?
Limahl’s The Neverending Story (for the days I need a flashback to the 80s!), the Frozen soundtrack (that’s for my son, I swear!), Neil Diamond, and my all-time favorite band, Jukebox the Ghost
How do you spend your free time?
Spending time with my husband, Ben, our son, Harley, and our husky/shepherd, Riley.
Whom do you admire?
I admire anyone that is involved in the military (active duty, reserves, retired, family members, etc.). I truly appreciate the men and women that support and protect our freedom, especially those in my family: my dad, my grandpa, my brother-in-law, Adam, my cousins, Brian and Eric, and countless friends.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
I have two greatest accomplishments! The first one is, of course, raising a wonderful son; it’s amazing to be Harley’s mom! My second greatest accomplishment is surviving a tough battle with Guillain-Barre Syndrome; it has been an interesting journey relearning how to live independently and how to play my horn. I’m extremely blessed to have a second chance at life!
