Earliest musical memory:
I didn’t grow up in a musical household, so my first exposure to music was in school. I started playing flute in the fourth grade and I was lucky to have a great band teacher who made learning music fun.

Best part of being a Salina Symphony musician:
The opportunity to play with many great musicians and perform classic orchestral pieces.

Most memorable performance with the Salina Symphony:
Performing Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony. Everyone in the Symphony worked so hard to master this piece, and it was exciting to see how much the audience enjoyed it.

Favorite composers:
I love music from the Romantic period. Debussy and Tchaikovsky are a few of my favorites.

What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
90’s alternative or classical music, depending on my mood.

How do you spend your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy playing flute, running, and spending time with my husband and three children.

Whom do you admire?
I admire my parents for teaching me the value of hard work and always supporting me in my endeavors.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment is being able to balance a career, family life, and activities such as performing with Salina Symphony. I am thankful for my husband John because this would not be possible without his support.
